With guidance from top-level competitors including Boyd Martin, Bobby Costello, Silva Martin and Jessica Jo Tate, Sara has risen quickly to the top levels of competition.
Sara is a student of the sport and is passionate about teaching. Helping fellow riders find success with their horses fuels her drive to be the best that she can be. "I love teaching clinics. I love the pony clubbers. It has been such a humbling, gratifying and rewarding experience to see all kinds of riders get something out of a clinic experience."

Dressage Clinic

with

Silva Martin

April 1&2

at Journey's End Farm

German born and trained dressage rider, Silva Martin has achieved success in the show ring and is a sought-after trainer and coach in dressage and eventing. Having relocated to the US from Australia in 2007, she has quickly become one of the most sought-after trainers in the United States. Early in her career Silva passed her Bereiters exam at the German Riding School in Warendorf with an "excellent" mark and is fortunate to have apprenticed with noted horsemen Paul Beck, Rudolf Zeilinger and Hubertus Schmidt. Through these experiences she learned what a well-trained Grand Prix horse feels like and is now able to convey that feeling to her students. Tall, athletic and elegant in the saddle, Silva is a tough competitor. But she is also down to earth, approachable, and relates well to people, making her a superb coach. She has a solid education in dressage training and is happy to impart her knowledge to students of any level. Today, training horses and riders to the top level is Silva's main focus, but she is equally adept at training young horses and inexperienced riders as she is Grand Prix competitors. She trains all her horses with the same basics that she learned in Germany, and is adept at translating that feel into words for her students.

"Everyone is concerned with building the core and developing a 6 pack, but, isn't a keg better than a 6 pack!!" - Jim from Long Island, NY

Aaron England Horsemanship Clinic

April 25 & 26

at Whysper Wynd Farm

May 2 & 3

at the Nakota Preserve

INFO

The mission of England’s Versatile Horsemanship is to teach equestrians from all backgrounds to improve their relationship with their horse through feel, timing, and balance. We use natural methods along with horse psychology, which causes the horse to work from his heart; without fear, pain or intimidation. These methods are proven for all disciplines, whether the goals are simply a safe riding horse or a highly refined competitor.

Get the answers to these questions: What are the top 3 needs of the horse?  What are the 3 parts of the horse?  What are the 3 forms of communication with the horse?  What are the 4 phases of communication?  What is a squeeze exercise?

Aaron England provided in introduction to natural horsemanship for several participants on April 25 & 26.  We had a good time playing games and learning how to teach our horses using these methods.

Jim traveled from Long Island, New York to continue his training, he has trained with Aaron in Texas.  "Everyone is concerned with building the core and developing the 6 pack, but, isn't a keg better than a 6 pack?"-Jim

George Williams - Wow

We had a great time at

Justaplain Farm, Cochranville, PA

September 13 & 14, 2014

Several Auditors joined the riders and grooms for the clinic, and had a wonderful time.  We were fortunate to have generally nice weather, after a slightly late arrival on Friday, everything else was right on time.  Some showers on Saturday along with cooler weather, did not dampen our spirits, we warmed right up to it.  All the riders were pleased with their progress, and on some of the younger horses, the improvement was dramatic, one even graduated from "Kindergarten".  (Refering to the article in Dressage Today, August 2014, by George Williams.)

Plans have been made to have him back again next year for the same weekend.

THANK-YOU to all that attended.

FCEA presents a Day with

Sally Cousins

Sunday, August 17th

Join FCEA for a clinic with International 3-day Event Rider, Sally Cousins. Sally moved through the upper levels of eventing in her teens and by the age of 20 was competing at the highest levels of competition in the world. She recently came home with an 18th place finish at Rolex CCI**** with her TB mare Tsunami III and she has been ranked among the top 10 riders on the USEA leader board and the Leading Lady Rider for USEA for the past 6 years.

Sally’s training method includes a strong emphasis on safety, confidence and competence. She strongly believes that competence and confidence go hand in hand and one is no good without the other. She works with riders to develop confidence and deal with nerves. She works with riders to feel and recognize when things are going wrong and deal with it before it gets worse. She also helps a horse and rider determine which level is appropriate for competition. She understands the external factors that come into play at an event and will help you to determine the margin of error needed to successfully complete each level. For more information on Sally visit her website at www.sallycousins.com.

Kelset Farm is a private eventing facility including an outdoor arena and several XC jumps, including a banks and ditches for all levels.
